Hannah Shepherd b 1801 Ranskill, Notts, Hannah possibly died July quarter 1868, Doncaster

Robert b 1826 Laughton died January quarter 1892 Rotherham

William b 1828 Conisbro  died January quarter 1881 Doncaster

Thomas b 1831 Conisbro died April quarter 1891 Sheffield

Samuel b 1833 Conisbro died  January quarter 1886 Sheffield

Hannah b 1836 Conisbro died 10 Oct 1875 Rotherham

Charles b October quarter 1839 Laughton.

Henry b 1843 Laughton died October quarter 1924 Rotherham

Enoch b 1847 Laughton died July quarter 1910 Rotherham

 

George didn’t marry.

 

Robert b 1826 married Elizabeth (probably Ritchen but not proved) b 1823.  He was a stove grate polisher.  Child Emma b 1851.  Can’t find a marriage or any other information for her.

William b 1828 m Hannah Ackroyd (from Nottinghamshire) in Doncaster October quarter 1851.  He was an agricultural worker.  Children: Robert 1853, Misson, Notts, Emma b 1855 Fillingley, Notts, Betsy 1862, Fillingley.  Robert marries Sarah Mowbray in 1878 in Doncaster and they have children all born in Fillingley: Elizabeth 1879, William 1881, George 1887, Samuel 1888, Albert 1892.  of these, Elizabeth married William Newby in July quarter 1901 in Doncaster,  no other details on other children.  Emma b 1855 Fillingley married John Machin in 1874 in Doncaster.  They have no children, but in the census for 1881, Emma, John and Emma’s sister Betsy are all together in Doncaster, and Betsy has married, but name is indistinct, and has two children out of wedlock. They are John William Maxfield b 1883 Doncaster and Emma Helen Maxfield b 1889 Doncaster.  Emma, Betsy and John Machin then disappear after 1881.

 

Thomas b 1831 marries a Sarah no surname and no wedding date.  He was a steel melter.  Children: Sarah 1861, Thomas 1863, Samuel 1866, William F 1868 and Frederick W 1870 all born in Sheffield.  Not sure what happens to Sarah b 1861, but Thomas b 1863 marries Martha someone in 1887 in Sheffield, and has children Martha 1889, Gertrude 1890, Thomas 1891 all in Sheffield.  Samuel b 1866 marries Mary Dean in 1891 in Sheffield and has children Samuel 1893 and Mary 1900, both Sheffield.  William F b 1868 marries Phoebe Tagg Greening in Wandsworth in London in 1901.  In the 1901 census he is in Reigate and a commercial traveler in provisions.  Frederick W born 1870 ?

 

Samuel b 1833 Conisbrough  married someone called Sarah who came from Thorpe in Lincs.  They had children Henry 1864, Walter 1866, Thomas 1868 and Fred 1870 all born in Devon. In 1881, Samuel is a domestic coachman.    Of his children, Henry married Maria White in 1885 in Sheffield, and they had children William H 1887, Florence 1890, Harry 1896 all in Sheffield. Walter married Sarah Revill White in 1886 in Sheffield and they had a child called Alice W Maxfield in Sheffield in 1887.  Thomas married Hannah Norburn in 1889 in Sheffield.  They had a son called Walter b Sheffield 1890.

 

Hannah, born about 1837 in Conisbro, Yorks. Married 1861 in Rotherham to John Bagnall, son of John Bagnall and Eliza?

Charles married June quarter 1867 in Birmingham to Louisa Green. In 1871 they have a daughter Louisa aged 2 and are living in Wolverhampton, Staffs. Charles possibly died 1875 aged 35, in Birmingham.

 

Henry b 1843 married Eliza A – no record of marriage.  He was a coal miner.  Children: Fred 1865, Conisbro, George Henry 1867 Conisbro, Mary H 1870 Conisbro, Selina 1873 Conisbro, Emma 1877 Conisbro and Bernard 9 August 1888 Rotherham who died April quarter 1971 Rotherham.  Fred married Hannah Draper in October quarter 1892 Rotherham.  George Henry was an elementary school teacher, but disappears, Mary H ?, Selina is with her father in 1901 and is also a school teacher, Emma and Bernard ?.

 

Enoch b 1847 married a widow called Mary Anne Salt who came along with her 2 daughters which is why I have her name, but there is no marriage listing. In 1891 and 1901 they were at Harrison St, Rotherham. (In 1881 the surname is transcribed as Marfield).  He was an engine fitter.
