Edmund Grainge, born about 1845 in Notton, Yorkshire, died aged 64 in 1909 Wakefield. Married 1864 in Leeds to Ann Marshall. Ann was born about 1846 in Crigglestone, Wakefield, Yorkshire.

Claude Marshall Grainge b Q1 1901 Dewsbury died Q1 1954 Wakefield married Phyllis Gath Q3 1926 Leeds. Children 1. Clifford Marshall Grainge (known as Marshall) b 21 July 1927 Dewsbury died May 1989 Leeds. Married Kathleen Raynes.  2. Albert Marshall Grainge born and died 1929 Dewsbury.

 

Annie Alexandra Grainge b 1903 Heckmondwike married John W Longley July 1939 Settle. John Longley was mayor of Bradford in the 1930s.

 

Alice May Grainge (known as May) b 1906 Heckmondwike married Norman Barraclough, Q 2 1930, Leeds. Children: Colin b Q2 1932 Leeds (Colin was an RAF pilot and died in a plane crash in Northamptonshire in 1954), David b Q3 1945 Leeds.

 

Louie Grainge b 8 June 1908 Heckmondwike, died March 1994 Leeds, married Basil J Bentley (1910- 1985) Q1 1937 Leeds North. Child: Michael A b Q1 1938 Leeds North

 

Frederick William Grainge b 21 July 1913 Dewsbury died 1994 Leeds married 1) Margaret Wilson (b 1913 died 1945) in Q4 1935 Leeds. Children: John Grainge born Q4 1937, Malcolm b Q2 1939, Keith A F b Q1 1941. 2) married Dorcas A Ford (b about 1920 died 26 Oct 2007) Q4 1947 Stainscross. Child: Shaun D Grainge b Q2 1956 Leeds married 1) Kathryn D Linley Q1 1978 Leeds and 2) Zoe J Constantinou in Leeds in Q2 1982. Shaun, a mechanic by profession, was killed in a road traffic accident on the Dhekelia to Rizoelia road near Larnaca, Cyrprus on Thursday 13th July 2000 on his way home to Livadia where he lived with his family.

GRAINGE, CLIFFORD MARSHALL, who died on May 26, 1989, aged 61, bowled steady right-arm medium pace in fourteen matches for Oxford between 1950 and 1952 but without winning his Blue. His best figures were five for 127 against Surrey at The Oval in 1951, and his 25 first-class wickets cost 43.60 rum apiece. No batsman, he made just 47 runs at 5.22. Born at Heckmondwike, he was later to return to his native Yorkshire as senior master at Leeds Grammar School.
